SYTYCD update....
I know it has been a while... yes it is true I am a slacker. I thought I would hurry and get a couple things out there about our experience of attending the show real fast. (Since that is the real reason why people have been calling me out of the blue as of late, seriously!? No, I would only call me for the information also!)
SO we were ECSTATIC to get tickets to the show a couple of weeks ago. Which turned out to be more thanamazing (getting tickets that weekend) because we were going down for Spencer's 10 year high school reunion. (that is for another post.) So it worked out great. I made Spencer take a day off (we all know he really wanted to in the first place, come on!). My sister Aarean and her husband Josh came with us, and it was going to be great! Let me just tell you all that it is an interesting thing to see how it all works, but honestly enjoy it from your own comfy home in your PJs while commenting on everything and one you want. It took a whoppin' 3 hours or more of filming, just filming and we (because of my grand ideas) stood outside the gate for three hours early. Only because, in my defense, they said (they = meaning the production company) first come first serve with seats. So I was not about to stand for three or more hours in heels... (no sandals allowed), I was GOING to get a seat. Yes my luck ran out with the tickets. We stood for three + hours while filming plus waited for three hours outside. It was not as fun... but again interesting. They film out of order, and have to do things over if the camera didn't catch it the first time. So you have to act like it was the first time you've seen it over and over again. Anyway here are some highlights:
- Got to know Benji's ex-girlfriend really well, so yea we got all the inside information on him and his family... see below
- Benji is not GAY, no serioulsy he isn't... just kind of goofy.
- Benji is very active in the church; as is Heidi, Lacy is not active
- Benji and Lacy's mom and dad are divorced and are quite funny to watch
- Niel is really cute in person, and really funny... for some reason this surprised me?!?
- Spencer and Josh both got checked out by Danny.... BIG TIME, it was great to watch... ha
- Cat is how she is on TV, hot and actually really down to earth.
- Cat is about 6'2"
- All dancers have really annoying friends who think they are all the cat's meow for being the dancer's "friends"... we wanted to slaughter them all about the first hour into waiting outside the room
- Enrique Iglesis (sp?) was filmed this day with us, and is really a handsome man and has a good voice, never paid too much attention before this.
- We don't live in LA, and never will - hopefully!
It was fun, but am not wanting to do it again. After all of this I am so grateful that my life is simple and doesn't consist of the things in the entertainment industry. But am still a STRONG fan of SYTYCD.

I am sooooo jealous that you got to go. But I do agree, things are usually better at home, in pj's, drinking a diet coke and eating cookies. Or milk with the cookies. :) I am soooo glad you filled us in on Benji. Those were all answers I had. Especially the "is he active?" one. And about Lacy too. She is super naughty on stage. It bugs me. Like, where are your standards?!!! Any of them! We'll take what we can get. But I do agree with you. She has my vote until she does swing like a hooch. Is that how you spell that?
WOW. That was some serious information! I love it! Especially that Spencer and Danny are now a hot item - Spencer, you little vixen. I will just state for the record that I love Lacey, naughty or not. I think she's fantastic. And it's not like Benji didn't do his share of scandalous dances ("Too much booty in the pants" hip hop routine anyone?), it's just that she's a girl so she gets a worse wrap. BTW, we're (by we I mean me since Abram doesn't come home until 9:00...) having your pork tacos tonight - can't wait!
