Lake Powell
If you have never been - try your darnedest to make it there. I promise you will not be disappointed. Even if boating is not a favorite, the history and beauty of it is something you don't really want to miss. As my sister in law said "it is like a huge lake in the bottom of the Grand Canyon"... and it does resemble that... or what it would be if so.
Luke & Jameson
R & her Co-co {Chloe}
Handsome Simon and H
Most all of the cousins
R & Aunt Becca
Spence jumping off the cliff...
all the Brinton kids.
This is my favorite of the jumps... trying to get a clear shot was almost impossible... drifting in and out of other viewer's ways and trying to zoom in... but it was classic.
Needless to say it was a wonderful trip, other than the first 24 - 36 hours. Which may or may not have consisted of:
- flying with two children on a plane {not always a good time - you feel like you've run a marathon}
- coming home from Eclipse to find Spencer {who arrived while we're at the movie - and it was 12:30am} cleaning up H's throw up all over the kitchen floor.
- Up every 1/2 hour to help H with the "bowl" or toilet {it was both ends, thank you very much... or thank you Spencer for dealing with the lower end for me}
- Spencer getting sick with Hudson and they were both up every 1/2 hour
- Leaving a bit later than expected, so we could gather our strength for the 6.5 hour drive for Lake Powell
- Cleaning, packing and caring for two poor sickies
- Taking off and not being able to drive more than 45 min {both Spencer and I} the entire way... so we switch off every 45 min. It was HELL.
- Just outside Lake Powell going to gas up the truck and {me driving} ripping the fender like an accordian... 1500 bucks later....
- Me bawling in the car thinking "what are we doing?!?!?!?!!?!?"
- Spencer patting my leg, not saying a word, but as he gets outside and I see him in the rearview mirror I focus in and he mouths "OH {sigh} boy". I then cry a little harder
- Getting to Lake Powell and then proceeding {from the day before germs were passed unknowing} to watch 6 others get sick with the 12 hour bug. Nasty little demon.
After the first 36 hours it was great. Promise.

ok, these pics were awesome! i love the cliff jumping. can i come see you next week? please?
I love Lake Powell. Looks like you had a blast. It's my favorite place in the entire world. We're heading there in a couple weeks. We'll see if JD gets to get aways from work for a couple days. I'm going to the cannery in Concord this Friday and when I was looking at how to get there, I saw it was close to Danville. Maddie and I would love to come see your new house if you're around!
Whit

Oh I get it...you have a family full of gorgeous children. I guess pretty children get together, get married and have more pretty children.
