Front Yard Makover

Before
One project I have had on my plate for a long time was our front yard.  I had made changes to it over the last year but about a month ago I woke up one morning and went to work pulling out the existing "stuff".

What took the longest to figure out was the actual design.  I got a ton of ideas from looking at different landscaping sites and bouncing ideas off of Whitney.  We both finally agreed on a design.  The last and final thing we wanted was a porch swing.  It's what we always dreamed of having and we now finally have one.

After

I left an area for planting "annuals"
I hate having to constantly plant flowers in a lot of different places.  I decided to make two small areas in the center of the yard.  This way I could still change the colors during the planting season and keep the wow factor flowers have on a yard but not have a lot of planting to do each season.

I used Green Beauty Boxwoods for the hedge.  They stay green during extreme heat and cold.

Here she is (still have to paint the 4 x 4)

There is nothing better than sitting on this swing in the evening.

Now onto the next project...the family room
Disgusting, please don't judge

Just caught up on posts -- you've been taking some killer pictures! What do you have planned for the family room? Good thing your handy man is local and easy to contact any time of day or night.
