New York 2.5 years ago

I know for a fact that I never finished up my New York trip on this blog.  And I probably will never, so I thought I might as well post some of the pictures I took there... for memory sake.  I remember when I posted them 2 years ago I used photobucket and it froze my account for some reason... anyway, now I do not know what pictures I posted... but these bring back memories.

We stayed with Spencer's aunt Lynne, right on 5th avenue.  Pretty amazing.
She was the hostess of the most-ess.  Honestly.  She even slept on her couch so we could sleep in her bed.  See... hostess of the most-ess.

She then landed us some tickets to see the Boston Red Socks vs. the N.Y. Yanks.
It was awesome and surreal.  And if it was surreal for me, you could imagine Spencer...

Not to mention that JZ was sitting a few rows in front of us...
{I do remember it being a weeee bit chilly that night.  Like bone friggin' cold}

This picture {below} cracks me up - Spencer was all about going on the Ferry to the Island {the name of the island has left my head right now... tip of my tongue...}.  He wanted to really see the museum and all the history etc.  I wasn't too into it... until we got there.  Then, if you know me, I am like a museum junkie {I didn't even think there was going to be a real real museum.... AHHHHHH ELLIS ISLAND - see tip of my tongue} - in the aspect that I could spend HOURS in any museum.  Really I could.  Probably not really a "+" in most men's book... men like Spencer that is.  So, I was WAY into it, him not so much.  He was about to pull me out of there by the time I decided to leave.

 Can you guys how sad I was to leave the museum below?!!?  Spencer will never take me to Europe now. I should have played the disinterested card {of museums} until he took me to Europe.  Hind sight.

 side note: That bag I have over my shoulder probably weighed 20lbs.  No joke.  It was so heavy.  I remember thinking "why on earth did I decide to bring my big camera?"  What was I thinking???  The iphone has blessed my life in that way.  Not to worry about huge cameras were ever I go.

This picture gives me such gratification.  haha.  Spencer is known to have some of the BEST sense of directions skills.  He puts me to shame hands down.  But in this particular moment in NY he got all confused and lost in Central Park.  AND I KNEW where we were!!  I still think {daydream} about that... only because that is the only moment I have in my back pocket.  When it comes to knowing more than S in regards to location, I will bring it up as often as I can.  Love it, love it.  He just rolls his eyes at me.

Now the next two pictures are some of the most delicious meals we had in NY...  The first is 2nd Avenue Deli.  It is a jewish deli and just the thought of it makes my mouth water.  Honestly I never got cravings when I was pregnant.  I only get them when I am not pregnant.  And this meal is one that I crave often, and NOTHING has held a candle to it since.  I search matzoh ball soup and pastrami on rye out all the time.  It is all yuck.

The second picture is hot chocolate from Max Brenners.  Okay I know - hot chocolate doesn't constitute a meal - but my friends it does.  When you drink it in the amounts I did that weekend it truly does.  The best hot chocolate I have ever had.  {Thank you Jen} Annnnnd, to top it off the restaurant puts chocolate in every meal - no matter the time.  Spencer and I went there twice.  I have decided we are total foodies.  And I am okay with that.  It is complete pleasure - good food - in every every way.

Another restaurant that is a must, well in my book, is called Commerce.  It is near Soho and it is actually off Commerce  .  As I remember?  Once again, Lynne knocked our shoes off.   Everything about the meal was delicious and satisfying.  This is the place that Spencer starts to salivate if even the name comes up.    And to top it off Nate Berkus sat a couple booths down.  It was like I saw Oprah - next best thing I suppose.  Or maybe, it was the fact that I felt, now, that much closer to Oprah?  Who knows?  It was dreamy nonetheless.

Sum it up - got to New York.  It is worth it.  I loved it all.  I really did.  It was Spencer's first time there and my first time with a little money... haha.  Spencer, if he were to go again, would not sight see... he would jump on a double decker bus for a few hours, learn about the city, then have them drop him off on Broadway.  He would see a show every night.  And I would have to agree... if shows are up to par with Jersey Boys then yes... a play/musical every night would be fabulous.  You could not go wrong.

Although - you know me... I love the sight seeing... and history of it all; well maybe for just the first time around.  I did hear there is an architectural tour that is available - which I would get on in a jiffy.   But to be honest... I would take a seat right next to Spence and go to broadway nightly... and of course eat my heart out.
