out loud thoughts

Once again - I have another one....

Our neighbor's "help" (aka nanny... but she refers to herself as the "help") was sitting outside our window this afternoon.  Hudson heard the baby crying outside and hurried himself over to see who it was.  He lifted the blinds right on up over his head and announced his presence.

"HELLOOOOO"

which she replied with a friendly hello.

He then started acting goofy and saying words like "bum-bum" to which I hurried myself over to try and make conversation so she wouldn't hear everything he was saying.

As I was talking with Leah, our helper neighbor, Hudson would pipe in every once in a while just to remind us he was still there.  Finally he had enough and screeched out, "Mom!  MOM!  she is a black car.  BLACK CAR BLACK CAR!

Now, I know that is not the worst thing.  But... considering that she is black... you never know how the wind was going to blow on that one.  I just laughed, kind of, and quickly switched conversation.   Not sure if she really heard or if she went away thinking that my child was a WILD child saying all the wrong things.  But then again he is a kid... and really he had no idea what he was saying, I am surprised he got "black" in there... since he didn't even recognize the color of her skin. (hoping.) Goodness.  I am sure there is worse to come.  But it was a first in this situation for me.

Good times Good times

I forgot to tell you my Hudson story from when I spent the night.

I was still sleeping in on the couch (of course) and Hudson came up to me and whispered in an almost yelling way, "Bekah...Bekah!" I turned over and smiled at him and then he started tickling my feet and said, "Tickle, tickle, tickle!"

He is so adorable. I almost ate him up, but ended up sleeping in your bed for half the day instead.

I love your family. Thanks for letting me be a part of it from time to time.
