Stickers

The other day I took H. over to a near by "path" to ride his bike while I tried hard to run after him.  I have to get creative sometime... to get my exercise on.    This was the following conversation:

m:    Hudson.  Hudson.  Hudson! you need to watch where you are going.
(I am running behind him while pushing R.)

         Hudsonnnnnn.

All the while his eyes are glued to these two women (Indian women) walking up.  One of which is in regular clothing, the other older woman is wearing a Indian Saree.  While he is so politely staring, he is starting to go off the path.  (He doesn't understand that where you look is where the bike usually goes... he will learn.)   I finally caught up with him and told him not to just stare but to say hello.  He completely ignored me. Completely.

Oh well I thought; about him staring.

Then I heard this -

H.:     Mom.   Mom, why does that woman have a sticker on her head?!  There is a sticker
RIGHT here (as he pointed to the center of his forehead)!!

It caught me by surprise, and I honestly didn't know what to say... because really it does look like a sticker.  And for all he knows the woman was playing with stickers earlier and forgot she had placed one on her forehead. I totally get it.  And I love it.  I love the configuration of his thoughts and how things don't make sense... and how he tried to make sense of things.

Such joy.  Such joy.

(By the way...If you ever have anything in your teeth - or on your forehead-
and are with H., don't worry he will let you know; or just stare.
Either way, you will get the hint - don't worry.)

I wish I were still by you guys so we could all learn the photog thing together! I am loving your pics.

Kids are so honest! That is funny, but I think we all have those moments as Moms. Your family is so adorable!
