22. It has been really cold lately. I know what you are thinking... that I have no idea what "cold" is. Well - true to an extent; but for "here" it is pretty darn cold.
The other day I was driving Hudson to preschool; in the next town over, as I pulled off the freeway both H & I were speechless. There was snow everywhere. In the town next to us. Amazing. It was like a sudden high for the both of us. There were white trees, white rooftops, white in all the places there has never been white before. It was fantastic.
As we were giggling about it, {and R saying "WOW!!"} H looked at me and said "Mommy, this makes me so very, very happy!".
With that said, yes the change in scenery was exhilarating... but what made it so very wonderful was that we could climb into our heated car, or heated home. SO I am so happy to have heat in my life, and air in the summer. I do not do well in hot places. Let's just leave it at that.
23. The Scriptures. As I learn more and more through the scriptures, yes that would include the Book of Mormon, I become more and more aware of my blessings.
I am not as good at keeping consistent at reading the scriptures as I was earlier in my life. I don't know why? You would think it would be the opposite?!
I do, however, remember at one point in my life when a professor challenged us to read the scriptures daily, in the same place, at the same time. Make it habit. So I did.
I was taking a Book of Mormon class, but decided to read the New Testament. I would leave class everyday, drive up to the Provo Temple. Sit on the grass right outside the temple gates and read. Never in my life have I felt so "clear minded". Never have I felt so at peace and so happy about everything. It was a notable change. It was something I needed to experience to look back on, and draw from.
It solidified my testimony in reading from the scriptures and how they work in our lives.
24. Pampering. {Far enough from the scriptures, huh? :) }
I, like the majority of people... I am sure, love to have my hair done. {My hair/head scrubbed, I would pay for that alone.} I love my toenails painted, and my hands done - when I am feeling patient. I do have a hard time sitting there waiting to have my nails painted. I hate that part about it. But the actual rubbing, painting and all that good stuff I like... I do, I do.
I love to take vacations and sit by the pool. I really do. Read, eat, tan. You know... all those yummy vain things. And I am so looking forward to this upcoming week and the visit to the Montage with Spencer and his company. It is something I look forward to all year. {We will miss Charity & Heidi - and their men, very much.}
