Hello, Cupcake!
My sister came across this book on this blog. Pretty amazing and creative people. So my mom bought the book, and when visiting her I brought it home with me... because I had the ingenious idea to create one of the fabulous cupcake "art" that is found in the book, for Hudson's birthday. I mean what 3-4 year old doesn't appreciate a great lookin' cupcake. My point exactly.
Soooo here is my "not so sharp - but it will do the job" shark cupcake...
This is what I called a labor of love, for real.
Conclusion:
I agree with the book, anyone can make what is found in the pages if:
A. You have 5 hours to yourself and the oven
B. You have no children in the house, or are willing to ignore them and everything else.
C. You realize that 30 min. after finishing the art, yes we will call it that for my sake, it will look like a mess... a shipwreck if I may. Not funny.
I was so thrilled with myself for actually buckling down and making them. I guess (like the pizzas... see blog below) I didn't take into account that I wouldn't be leaving the sharks and such in my little condo for everyone to come to them; but that I would be taking them in the car to an outside pool party and leaving them to WAIT for the kids in 100 degree weather. The result was, actually, funny. Slowly they started to melt, then they would break and then before you knew what was happening they would fall over --- meaning that the shark would be split in half. I thought about the melting issue while I was in my car waiting for the facility to open. Yep just me and the cupcakes in my car with the air full blast... for about 20 min. Spence was in the waiting area with both kids. I was not about to have the sharks all fall apart before anyone saw them. So there I sat.
No, I didn't take a "end" picture. It was just to sad and ugly. I would like for you to only see, in your head, the sharks before they wasted away.
*I still would recommend the book, it really does have some good stuff in it.
