Spencer and I are heading out to the east in a bit.
Like some time in the future...
and both of us are oh so not familiar with the city above...
[New York for all of those still guessing}
So I am accepting/WANTING suggestions from you all...
- What restaurants can we NOT miss - ones that make you smile and smile as you eat.
- Stores that are a must - ones the normal tourists crowd doesn't go too... like antiques, fabric... etc.
ummm... that is about all my questions. Sad. Food and fabric/furniture consume me.
But don't fret my friends... we are going to be hosted by the one and only beautiful Aunt Lynn, whom owns New York. So we are in good hands.
And she does have the itinerary to die for already lined out. Oh how lucky are we?
I was just curious as to what your favorites are. PLEASE, I would love to know.
And I know... you are not fretting at all.

Three Musts:
1. SOHO
2. China Town (purses galore)
3. Serendipity
4. Shake Shack
oh woops that was four things. haha whatever.
You have to go to Max Brenner. It's a chocolate restaurant, need I say more?
http://maxbrenner.com/
Ohhhhhhh Whitney. I am the girl with the plan and the goods on where to go. I will need your email. One of my fellow interior designer friends moved to NY with the goal of knowing the city better than the natives and locals. By the time they lived there a year, said natives and locals went to her for the hip and cool places. I have her list. I will bestow it upon you. haha.
Also- skip Serendipity. There's one in Vegas now, you can guy the mix online...chances are, you will get there and the line will be 50 mins to get in. Do you really want a frozen hot cocoa that bad (I don't know...maybe you do?). If you are going to do a "tourist" sweet spot- go with the Magnolia Bakery. You can eat cupcakes and walk the streets of Greenwich Village, which you will like, and also see the shops on Bleecker.
Cafee Grazi on 82 and Madison (I think- I can look it up) was THE BEST quaint Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side. Hit it after the Met. (Oh, you MUST go...dont forget to go on the rooftop!).
Anyways, if you want more.....look in my blog archive from last September. I can also email a file. I love, love, love NYC! You will have a ball!
okay, correction- its actually in the october 2008 archive. =)
Oh, I'm so jealous. Actually, I was just there a week ago but I miss it already! My family has quite a few favorites, here are some:
Tramonti (Italian restaurant, to die for!) 364 West 46th street, 212.245.2720, pretty reasonable prices too.
Little Italy Pizza (not in Little Italy, just it's name, you have to go during the weekday) 1 East 43rd St (between 5th and Madison Ave) It's directly out of the west balcony entrance of Grand Central Station. Just one and a half blocks down on your right. Seriously the best pizza I've ever had and I LOVE pizza.
Cones (Argentine Ice cream shop, delicious!) 272 Bleecker St. Some of the craziest and best flavors ever.
Topaz Thai Restaurant 127 West 56th Street. Yum.
I'm sure you can tell I really love food. Have fun!
You don't need suggestions if Lynne is with you. She will provide. Don't fret.
The Met
Central Park--YOU MUST DO THIS!
Gray's Papaya hot dogs
Soho
Serendipity
I'm jealous. Give NY a kiss for me.
