Big Boy?

Spencer and I have finally put the finishing touches on Hudson's big boy bed (The "bumpers"). It was actually a little more difficult than you would think - only because this bed is my grandfather's bed and they made beds a little different back then. My mom used it growing up, so did I, and now I get to have my little ones use it (I have two beds!!). Spencer and I refinished them and Spencer had to build a whole new frame for it, thus putting the bumpers up (and creating platforms for the bumpers under the bed) was a headache! But it is done, and oh so cute.

So here is to the old crib... well - I should say "old bedding" and in with the new. ALTHOUGH Hudson has not wanted to even get into his new bed for the past four nights. FINALLY today he has taken his first nap in it. We will see how long that lasts. (sorry picture is fuzzy)

His bed looks adorable! How neat to have a bed with a history like that... so fun to pass on through the generations. Good luck on the transition to the big boy bed. We're still struggling with that one with Porter. *sigh* 2 year olds...

I love it. Where did you get his bedding? I haven't been able to find anything I like for Max.

Whitney :)
I just made this same rough transition with my little "Lexi" about a month before her 2nd bday. It was rough for about a week then it was smooth sailing from there.

It was sure a sad day for me as I realized we would never be putting the crib back together,as we are done having kids :(

I will enjoy jessic's kids, they are moving into bishop sorenson's old home this week, how strange that will be!!! keep in touch Kelly Sims-Max

I love the big boy bed. Jackson has the same quilt but in red. I can't believe Hudson is so old. He is SO cute!!! And the bedding on the crib is still a favorite of mine.
