The "silver" bell
The other day Hudson was watching a scene of Polar Express; now added to his favorites. I stopped what I was doing for a moment to watch the part where the silver bell falls off the sleigh and rolls over to the "kid", which I am not sure if he even has a name?! I love this part. So I am standing there watching the scene when my attention turns to my little man; whom is also intrigued by this part - like ever other part with the actual train in it. As I am watching him and the bell fly off the sleigh I notice his eyes light up (Hudson) and this huge smile spread across his face. He then turns, before the bell even hit the ground in the movie, and runs to somewhere to retrieve this bell.It is a bell which while in Union Square last year at Christmas time we bought at Macys to suffice his tantrum. He has always kept it in some special place. It is the kind where the bell is connected to a ribbon/red rope like a necklace. So you can where the bell during the Holiday season. So anyway he runs out of his room, I think, and is holding this bell so tight in his hands smiling at the TV. He then proceeded to look down at the bell in his hands and then at the movie a couple of times. It is then that I actually put two and two together. He thought this bell in his hands was the actual bell from the movie, and was so over joyed that he had it in his little hands. It also dawned on me why he was so adamant on wearing the bell where ever we went for the past couple of weeks; it has been since he has started watching the movie. My eyes got all teary thinking of the innocence and the imagination of a child. It melted me to the core. It has given me a whole new love for this movie and bells.
