I am that mom...

You know the one who HATES when strangers touch my baby. I even have a hard time when runny nose kids get too close to Hudson... it is getting a little easier. But today I took Hudson to pre-school and headed off to the grocery store. I had Reagan in her car-seat - blanket over the car-seat and another blanket on her. I walked in and this girl (about 18yrs old) who worked at the store looked at me and waited for me to pass her, then she turned around and walked after me. She stopped me to ask how old Reagan was. (You could still peek at her with the blanket over the car-seat - on the side that is) She looked at her walked up to Reagan and put her finger in Reagan's hand and touched her... all I was thinking was GROSS GERM-IFIED HANDS THAT HAVE BEEN BAGGING FOOD AND TOUCHING EVERYTHING!!! I quickley pushed my cart ahead and started to walk away; I tried really hard not to let some comments out - gaving her the benefit of the doubt considering her age. I walked away making about 50 mental notes to WASH Reagan's hands profusely when I got home. And I did. I am that mom.

Oh! I've never really thought about adults! I'm paranoid about other kids! If another child who has a runny nose or sneezes or is dirty in any way gets near my child I mentally flip out! I carry antibacterial gel with me every where!
I would be that Mom too.....if I was a mom.
I'm right there with you, girl! I have sani wipes in my car for times such as these. Some lady in Costco the other day was touching Emily's nose. I was holding her and after the lady touched her for the second time I turned and walked away. Sorry, my kids health is more important to me than your feelings, crazy touchy lady!
My kids are very well acquainted with the antibacterial gel, too!
I'm for sure on your side 100% with this one!! The worst is when the kids at school swarm around Ava. And you'd honestly think that adults would have more common sense about germs and a baby, but surprisingly not. My face is an open book too so I'm sure I've offended many "baby touchers" with the "get your germy hands away from my baby" look, oh well, they should know better!!
Let's start a club. I used to be much more psycho about it. I'm loosening up a bit. But, the hand gel is in every purse I carry, and Cade even goes so far now to grab toilet paper in a public bathroom so that he can cover his hands to flush the toilet!
Um - yep. Pretty sure I'm right there with you. Never really thought I would be that way, but I am now. I'm just now starting to get OK with other people holding Owen. And we have hand sanitizer in both cars, in the diaper bag, and a JUMBO sized one in the living room.
You betcha!
and I thought I was a germiphobe!
