Ohhhh sheetsssssss
So, you would think that if spending "x" amount of money you get a good sheet?! Right?! Let's say the "X" is about 80$. I went to Target the other day for this reason: I was making our bed, and while I was yanking the sheets tight, so that there is no wrinkle in the "make", I heard a loud RIIIIPPPP. Yip, my soft nice sheets tore right parallel with the top fold/seam.
Sad but true.
I was actually throwing around the idea of sewing the thing, but came to the decision that -
1.yes that is tacky.
and
2. Tacky
So I bought some blankets, since getting a little chilly (stop laughing at my "chilly factor" I know I live in CA., but promise sometimes it is chilly). Threw in some nifty target brand sheets. Came home (why would they not fit?) washed them, dried them (that is except the one pillow case that was left in the washer to wash with the new brown blanket - lovely) and pulled them out to try and put them on our bed. Yes the word try was in there. I am not sure if Target knows that their "king" brand is actually a queen - maybe I should write them. So after finding my lost pillow case I bleached that one, prayed that the tan would become white... which it did. Then perspired a bit trying to fold my new sheets back into the original package... failed. Became satisfied with a target bag and made a mad dash to target to return; with family in tow. Walked in saw an innocent 16 yr old boy (I knew he knew nothing of sheets), went to his line and told him that it didn't fit, I left out I had washed it, dyed one pillow case and then bleached it. He didn't ask, I didn't tell - honest - well aware. So I got my money back then we hit up Macy's were I decided that 80$ for sheets is a REALLY good deal.
When did sheets, good soft sheets, become 200-300$, are you kidding me?!? Saw the :
brand and looked for the sale and got some sheets on sale, originally 130$, down to 60$ plus two gift cards and some credit we got these: well, one set of these:
For a whoppin' 2 bucks... can't beat that - although they do feel like paper. Hopefully wearing them in will help the softness. sigh.

We have a cal king bed becasue Jeremiah is so tall and becasue well as much as we love eachother I hate having anything or anyone touch me while I sleep so I know the agony of paying a fortune for sheets. My favorite and most affordable set actaully came from Target, there shabby line they are just crisp enough yet soft at the same time....and yes of course the top sheet torn about 3 months ago after a good year or 2 of use so I feel your pain.
Hi Whitney, it's Kristin. We met at your parents at their meet and greet. The next time you need to buy sheets, I bought some amazing egyptian cotton sheets at Walmart for $30 (came with fitted sheet, flat sheet and 2pillow cases). I seriously can't sleep without them. They are so soft and make such a huge difference! When I went out of town, I brought my own pillow case!
Hi Kristin, how are you? I don't know where I was, why I didn't think about Walmart!!?! ... for sure we will try good ole Walmart out next time. Thanks for the suggestion.
