Our little Reggies

Is 6 months old!!!

 

I can hardly believe that 6 months as passed by.  It is official... the second child's "days" seem to fly even faster than the first.  

It is a crying shame; I almost feel guilty at times that I haven't been able to devote as much time to her as I did with Hudson.  But then I see how obsessed she is with her brother and I figure that for the lack of attention I provided her - Hudson made up for the rest, if not more.  They absolutely LOVE each other and it is so fun to watch them together. I know that the love factor may not always be felt on both sides (I am guessing in about 10 years or sooner), so I am relishing in it for now.

Here are some fun things she is doing right now:

• Rolls both ways, more from her back to her tummy
• Loves her blanket and if I take it away, or a toy, she is heart broken and cries like I have ruined her life
• Greets us with a smile every morning
• Smiles NON-STOP
• Her gut laugh has a slight giggle in the middle of it - addictive to hear
• She will give Spencer and I sympathy laughs, to boost our egos... but Hudson, oh boy, Hudson can get her rolling with just a look.
• She loves her bottle and squeals with delight when it is in her sight
• Is starting to give kisses (without really knowing) when you go in for a kiss
• Her eyes sparkle and are brighter than most (the whites are especially white, promise)
• Tries to sit, but ends up bending in half and gets distraught at her new position
• Eats her hands continually
• Loves her bling pacifier, and isn't interested in any other pacifier I introduce (even same brand).  Problem since she needs a "bigger" one... oh well.  I also heart the bling pacifier.
• Sleeps best on her side
• Loves to now sleep in her bed, but can sleep with noise... which is a good thing since Hudson lives here
• Never really cries in the morning... just "hollers"
• She might be an Opera Singer when older, she can hit notes that I would never dream of hitting.  Her Grandpa Brinton calls her a parakeet.  She really does "scream/shriek" for talking.  Could be annoying but I like it, it is charming?  We just laugh.
• ADDICTED to her swing.  It is a good rescue for me at times, but we are trying to "wing" her.
• Follows Hudson where ever he moves, not interested in any one else.  Sad for Spence and me... ha ha
• Is starting to enjoy baby cereal, only with applesauce in it.  Likes Baby oatmeal as well.  The problem is that she constantly has her hands in her mouth, so it is a MESS when trying to feed her.  Oh well.  I have thought about tying her hands down - joke.  I am joking.
• One of my favorite things is (this is really new) when you pick her up, once she has been voicing her opinions, she will give a huge melt you heart smile and burrow her head in your shoulder/neck and hang on to your shoulder with her little hand all the while using her other hand to cling to your neck and squeeze, like a big bear hug.  I will be in a hurry but when she does this to me I just stand there and try to get as much out of it as I can
• She really isn't a big cuddle bug (like Hudson), well - I should say she is a fast cuddle bug.  She is in and out, but those quick moments are worth waiting for.
• She adores a certain puppy toy that is her size; it gives a squat and yelp when you push its back - she just giggles.  She does cuddle that.
• She loves her bathes and knows when she is getting one, her feet go a mile a min.
• When sung to she will not close her eyes or snuggle in, instead she whips her head around/up drops her pacifier and gives you a smile that is as big as her mouth can handle.  I think she thinks that you are playing with her.  It is funny.
• She has recently found her toes and likes to put them in her mouth.
• She is a cat napper - although she insists on her second nap in her bed, and it is a long one.
• She eats 7 ounces every 4 hours, and in the morning she will want 8-10 ounces.  Big eater over here
• She sleeps through the night

• She weighs (2 wks. ago) 17.6 pounds, which is 80%
• She is in the 90% for height
• Her head is in the 75-80th%
• She has only had two shots, I am taking my time.

She is perfect.
