I have not been able to blog, anything of real worth, lately for this one reason:
My house has mice.
I can't even talk about it. Not in any kind of depth because I then get paranoid all day.
So I let Spencer worry about it... well I let him put the death traps up. I don't get out of bed until he is up, and has gone to the kitchen. He then gets to see what the "reaper" traps gifted us that morning, not me.
Until last night I was living in my bubble of "we don't really have rodents".
Spence and I were talking and all of the sudden we hear something, sounding like a "thing" crawling up my wall.
W: "That has to be a mouse"
S: "Yep - sounds like it." He slowly walks over to the kitchen to see if he can catch anything in the act. Nope.
The sound again, right next to where Spencer's head was. {high up on our dividing wall}
W: "Ummm that is sounding a little big for a mouse." I feel dizzy.
Here is the sum up - yes we do have mice. We haven't caught anything in a while... but we have caught 5 in the last month. Nasty I know. We talked to our little cougar of a neighbor {in a good cougar way, no not BYU} and she tells us the good news.
We have attic squirrels. Oh yea. Nice way of saying "We all have attic rats".
So the nice little frolic that happened inside of our wall last night was done by an acrobatic rat. One with a long tail for the "whipping against things" effect.
It is like surround sound.
Come visit.
Between the ants and mice I am so done. So done I tell you.
Someone find me a home that is cheap where I live.
Please.

Oh, now I have the shivers. I hate mice! I love the surround sound comment...it really is true!
Sick. But unfortunately, I can relate far too well.

I had rats at my old house and when I realized it I took my kids and went to mom's until they were gone. When my husband finally got them all gone my kids and I came back. The body of the rat was about 12 inches long not including the tail. Talking about it still gives me the chills and it has been a few years. I feel for you. I really hope you can get rid of them quick.
